330 Greenway

A quarter-mile community greenway in Richmond — converting a gravel alley and open drainage ditch into a permeable, planted green corridor with bioswale drainage, canopy trees, solar lighting, and an engraved brick donor walk. Funded through a community brick campaign and federal and state green infrastructure grants.

3313 Hopkins Road

An unimproved corner lot in Richmond with a creek running through it — transformed into a living green buffer that stabilizes the creek bank, shades the sidewalk, softens traffic noise, and gives pollinators a permanent home. Exploring long-term partnerships with local schools and beekeepers for urban ecology research.

Ethical Rentals & Stewardship

The goal of the Ethical Rentals program is to return equity to communities which have been stripped by real estate flippers and whole salers. Portfolio addresses are not made public for privacy and safety. Please use the resources below for more information about the concept or reach out with inquries.

Our house, Your home

Our tenants have a one-on-one relationship with our organization. Full transparency of operations, and a dedication to providing a space for you to call home. Interested in owning a home of your own one day? We're happy to give advice and make sure this is a solid step towards that goal.

Equity Sharing

One of our more ambitous projects is the concept of Equity Sharing. The longer you stay, the more you own. After 5 years you can seek funding and offer to buy the property for the original price purchased by Hawks Land Trust. Any earned equity provides a further discount.

Affordability

We will constantly work to ensure the rent you pay is low enough to allow you to save. We want this program to be a ladder and not a leash.
